I went to a BBQ/Picnic at Town Center Park on Sunday.  Weather was great since there was a ton of shade and a breeze from some rain clouds looming over Wolf Creek Ski Resort Mountains.  It was cool watching a ton of rafters and kiyakers going down the river.  Lots of white caps which gave the adventurists some laughter and yelps!  They seemed to be having a ball and many ended up going to Kip’s Cantina after a few trips down the river for a nice refreshing margarita.  If I wasn’t at the BBQ already, I totally would have walked down there for a cold one.  One of the local churches had a Baptism ceremony down a bit in the river with people from the Hot Springs looking on.  People cheered and clapped will all seeming happy at the event!  You don’t see that everywhere! (I never did when I lived in Los Angeles!)   The only thing missing that day was hammock

Another glorious weekend in Pagosa!   As I spoke to my friends in Southern California and they told me about the 90+ degree weather (on the West Side of LA!! – I can’t imagine what the non-beach areas are like! Yewow!), and their $4.60 per gallon of regular gas….it gave me a huge sigh to take the moment to love Pagosa just that little extra bit!   They temp was in the upper 70’s with a nice breeze when it hit 82 degrees at the hottest part of the day and I filled up my tank at $3.86 (aftermy 10cent discount for shopping at City Market) a gallon.   I played with the horses a ton and took my mini for a walk around the neighborhood everyday!  It was great exercise, a great opportunity to train her, and a beautiful place to walk around.   How could anyone not want to live here?   Don’t you want to?

What a weekend!  The weather was absolutely perfect.  Yard work didn’t seem like work at all when I got to spend it playing with the dogs, watching the horses and hearing all the different birds chirping and flitting about!  Cool!   During my yard sale one day, I had great conversations with the people that stopped by.  Almost everyone commented on how cute the place was and how amazing the views were.  Of course I let everyone know that it’s for sale and to tell their friends!   A couple from Texas seemed really curious….are you? Check out www.pagosalegacy.com for pics or just post a comment and I’ll send some to you!  Meanwhile, enjoy the pic of my horses lounging!

The mountains were especially spectacular today in the morning sun.   As I was drinking my coffee and eating some breakfast at the diningroom table, I looked out at the view of Pagosa Peak and was stunned.  Since it still has a bit of snowcap, the light hit it in such a way that it made it “post card perfect”.  I hated to get up to begin my morning ritual of being ready to leave for work.  I could have sat there for another hour just taking it all in – the mountain range view, the horses grazing right out the window (the pasture fence is only a short distance from the house), the birds singing, and the occassional Canadian goose quacking  as it flew by….perfection…

Well, I’m  going to leave the beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado to follow another one of my dreams.  I love this town, it’s amazing beauty, and the welcoming, friendly folks.   The views are outstanding and the lifestyle is relaxing when you want that and invigorating when you want to enjoy the all the mountains have to offer!  Skiing, rafting, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, hiking, biking…you name it!!
